Amarone Forlago
APPELLATION: CONTROLLED AND GUARANTEED DENOMINATION OF ORIGIN
GRAPE VARIETY: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Oseleta, Negrara.
This unique wine is made according to the tradition and to the disciplinary of the Amarone wine as a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Oseleta and Negrara, all autochthonous grapevines of the Valpolicella territory.
Forlago is the best Vogadori’s Amarone Reserve, produced only in selected years, when climatic conditions and maturity of grapes are at top. The bunches of grapes in this case must be loose and perfect and there are selected manually. Forlago is a meditation Amarone, to be tasted on the most important days at the end of lunch or dinner for the pleasure of relaxing with an excellent glass of wine. It is characterized by a complex bouquet made of fruity as well as toasted notes. It is the perfect Amarone for meditation!
Fermentation takes place in steel containers using only the natural yeasts present on the grape grains themselves, without any use of chemical additives. During fermentation, pumping over is carried out at least three times a day to break the cap of the pomace in order to extract more perfume, taste and color from the grape grains.
Aging takes place in 225hl French oak barriques for 36 months. The barriques are a mixture of new, first and second passage to take advantage of the different flavors and aromas they donate. Once bottled it remains for at least 18 months to rest before being sold.
The wine has a wonderful ruby red color, definitely intense. On the nose it has hints of vanilla, cherry and chocolate. On the palate it is well structured, very long and persistent with hint of mature red fruits and chocolate enfolded in rich and soft tannins.
