Calicanto

APPELLATION: typical geographical indication (IGP)

GRAPE VARIETY: 100% ZIBIBBO

One winter's day a robin, tired and frozen for the cold wind, was looking for a solid branch that could allow him to rest for a few hours in the shelter of its last and not yet torn out by the wind yellow leaves, before continuing his flight to milder climates, but all trees refused to host him. Only the Calicanthus (Calicanto), moved to pity, welcomed him under its last leaves to warm him up.

After gentle pressing the must is vinified in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature (14/16 °C) subsequent to a brief cryomaceration of the grapes for at least 6 hours. No wood aging. Bottle aging for at least 3 months.

This wine has a straw yellow color with greenish reflections. On the nose it shows an intense, complex and persistent bouquet, typical of Zibibbo, which has pleasant notes of orange blossom and jasmine, combined with pleasant hints of exotic fruits and herbs from the Mediterranean bush. On the palate it is dry, fresh and soft, with a pleasant return of aromatic notes. It has a balanced acidity that gives it a long and persistent final.
