Lugana Selva
APPELLATION: DENOMINATION OF CONTROLLED ORIGIN (DOC)
GRAPE VARIETY: 100% TURBIANA
Lugana Selva is one of the very first Crus born in Lugana, produced from the vinification of pure Turbiana grapes grown in one of the most particular vineyards in the entire DOC area. The main vineyard that gives the name to the Estate is characterized by three fundamental elements: the elevation between 110 and 125 meters above sea level, the hilly inclination and the rich presence of stone to make the clay more friable and permeable.
The grapes are harvested by hand in 20 kg crates and taken to the cellar, where they are soft pressed, cooled and clarified with the utmost care to then start the alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts. All the vinification takes place in steel tanks to protect and enhance the typical characteristics of the wine, known for its austerity. It is bottled at the beginning of spring and then refined for several months in the cellar, where it waits to reach the proper balance between flavor and freshness, minerality and fruitiness, that make this wine a unique expression of this territory.
Almost austere to the nose, with mineral hints combined with citrus fruits, cedar, peach and apple. Full and complex on the palate, with a long mineral persistence.
