Mohair
APPELLATION: TYPICAL GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATION (IGT)
GRAPE VARIETY: 100% SCIASCINOSO
This great wine takes its name from a very valuable fabric or yarn (Mohair) made from the hair of the Angora goat which is both durable and resilient. It is also appreciated for its high luster and sheen, and soft tactile characteristics, whose sensations evoke the delicate and enveloping notes of this wine.
This wine represents the maximum expression of Sciascinoso grapevine in purity available on the market.
Grapes are harvested by hand and transported in small boxes of 20 kg each to the winery where they are subject to light pressing of the whole bunches, follows cold clearing, fermentation with selected yeasts at controlled temperature, short aging in stainless steel silos and brief passage in French oak barrels.
This wine has ruby red color with bright reflections. Fruity and well-structured on the palate with notes of plum, cherry, blueberry on the nose. The short passage in barrels adds additional character to this rare wine.
