Raffaello

APPELLATION: typical geographical indication

GRAPE VARIETY: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Oseleta, Negrara.

This new wine is a tribute wine to Vogadori’s Brothers father Raffaello. It is made using the same blend of selected vine grapes used for Amarone (Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Oseleta and Negrara) but here the idea was to obtain a wine with a character inspired to Amarone, but with a softer structure to make it perfect for all meals.

Fermentation takes place in steel containers using only the natural yeasts present on the grape grains themselves, without any use of chemical additives, for about 50 days. During fermentation, pumping over is carried out at least three times a day to break the cap of the pomace in order to extract more perfume, taste and color from the grape grains. Aging takes place in 225hl Italian cherry barriques for 6 to 8 months and continues in bottles for an additional period before selling.

The wine has an intense ruby red color with distinct and well characterized aromas. On the nose it presents itself as a remarkably fruity wine with hints of cherry, black cherry and dried flowers. On the palate it is well structured, elegant and persistent with hint of ripe fruit, cherry and dried flowers supported by soft tannins.
