Suadens Rosso
APPELLATION: TYPICAL GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATION (IGT)
GRAPE VARIETY: BLEND OF AGLIANICO, PIEDIROSSO AND SCIASCINOSO
This young but full-bodied wine is made of a blend of autochthonous grapes exclusively coming from the Irpinia territory within the Avellino Province. Besides Aglianico, which is very well-known grapevine, we have in this wine two additional types of grapevines, Piedirosso and Sciascinoso, which are typical of the territory of Campania.
The name SUADENS has been chosen to represent the suaveness of this wine, which is a molecular project aimed at valorizing not only the autochthonous vines of Irpinia territory, but also the typical local fruits that are cultivated exclusively in this territory.
Grapes are harvested by hand and transported in small boxes of 20 kg each to the winery where they are subject to light pressing of the whole bunches, follows cold clearing, fermentation with selected yeasts at controlled temperature, short aging in stainless steel silos and brief passage in French oak barrels.
This wine has an intense brilliant red color, the palate is full bodied well balanced and structured. On the nose it has aromas of ripe red fruits, local varieties of chestnuts, nuts, cherries, wild raspberries and plums. The short passage in barrels adds additional character to this wine.
