Vogadori
The winery
Fratelli VOGADORI are the three brothers (Alberto, Gaetano and Emanuele) today in charge of the winery inherited from their father Raffaello. Their mission is to valorize the autochthonous grapevines of their territory (namely Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Oseleta and Negrara), to produce great wines with full respect of the Valpolicella tradition and local nature
Story
The VOGADORI winery is a family business passed down from generation to generation. Today, the winery is managed by three brothers (Alberto, Gaetano and Emanuele) who inherited their traditional art from their father Raffaello, who is still helping in the vineyard despite his age, and their mother Rita. To their parents are dedicated two new wines the Raffaello Rosso Veronese and the Rita Passito Bianco Veneto, produced in very small quantities and often sold out. The sons of the three brothers are already studying and helping in the winery and preparing to become the next generation of great winemakers!
The Estate
The vineyard lays on the hill of Vigolo next to Negrar, in the heart of Valpolicella. The fortunate position and the southern exposure of the land create the perfect environment and microclimate for cultivating the autochthonous grapevines used for production of all Vogadori’s wines, facilitating the achievement of a remarkable quality for all of them and especially for Amarone. Their wines are “environmentally-friendly”, with no use of chemical fertilization, no chemical treatments of the grapevines, no insecticide and no herbicide. With such first-choice grapes and using the natural yeasts contained on the grapes themselves in the cellar it is possible to obtain the finest, truly typical and traditional wines.
The Cellar
Each of the VOGADORI’s wines has a unique and distinctive character. From their production Bottega Vini chose the most representative wines that best represent tradition as well as modernity of Valpolicella wines. Besides the Amarone Forlago, a precious limited edition Amarone, we propose what could be considered the ancestral relative of all Amaroni, the original Recioto della Valpolicella, and finally Raffaello, a tribute wine to the father of Vogadori brothers, born from the idea of obtaining a wine with a character inspired to Amarone, but with a softer structure to make it perfect for all meals.
